The following resources are listed below to help you and your loved ones navigate the Royal Alexandra during your visit or stay.
Wheelchairs
Wheelchairs depots are situated at the main entrances and parkade entrances to the Royal Alexandra Hospital. Wheelchairs must be returned to any of the depots when leaving the hospital.
Accessibility Friendly Features
A number of washrooms, elevators, doorways, and designated disabled parking spaces are wheelchair accessible; bariatric wheelchairs may need to request assistance for some locations.
Banking
Bank machines can be found in the lobby of the Robbins Pavilion, at the Royal Alexandra Hospital main entrance, or in the Food Court.
Pharmacy
A Rexall Pharmacy is located inside the main entrance of the Royal Alexandra Hospital, and can fill out-patient prescriptions.
Gift Shops
The Royal Alexandra Hospital Women’s Auxiliary operates two gift shops selling flowers, reading material, music, personal items, and more. They are located in the lobby of the Robbins Pavilion, and in the lobby of the Royal Alexandra Hospital at the main entrance.

Newspapers
Complimentary newspapers are delivered by the volunteers to the units each weekday morning.

The Royal Alexandra Hospital has two chapels open 24/7:
Robbins Chapel
The Robbins Chapel is located on the 2nd floor of the Robbins Pavilion across from the Ted & Lois Hole Healing Garden.
This is a spiritual sanctuary and sacred place set aside for private prayer, sacred services and practices.
Multi-faith Chapel
The multi-faith chapel is located inside the main entrance of the Royal Alexandra Hospital.

Things to Do
Healing Garden
Located on the 2nd floor of the Robbins Pavilion as part of the Lois Hole Hospital for Women, the Ted & Lois Hole Healing Garden was opened in 2011 as a peaceful haven for patients, their families, and hospital staff. This colourful oasis includes benches, raised water features, various plants and grasses, artistic glasswork screens, and trees.
Atrium
There are two Atriums – one on the main floor inside the main entrance, and one on the second floor. Both are equipped with seating, vending machines, plants, and pianos.
Vending Machines
Vending machines are available beside the entrance to the cafeteria, and in the Emergency Department on the main level. They offer a selection of beverages and light snacks.
Food Trucks
Through the summer months, food trucks can often be found between the Robbins Pavilion and the Women’s Centre.
Food Court
Located on the basement level of the hospital offering a full range of hot and cold meals, snacks and beverages.
Trendz
Located in the lobby of the Robbins Pavilion offering hot and cold meals, snacks and beverages.
Hearing Impaired Assistance
A TTY machine is available from the Admitting Office directly or the staff on your unit can make the necessary arrangements.
Language Interpretation
Interpreters speaking many different languages are available to assist you through our multicultural program. The staff on your unit can make the necessary arrangements.

Patient Well Wishes
As part of our support for patient care and comfort, friends and family of inpatients at hospital and health care facilities can send well wishes via email.
Telephones
Cell phones can be used in general public areas but not in all patient care areas. Watch for signs that show where cell phone use is prohibited.
Wireless Internet
Wireless Internet is accessible for patients and their families. To access, select “healthspot” from the list of available networks, open a web browser, read the acceptable use policy, and select “Accept”.
