Learn how to book an appointment for you, your child, or other family member.

Influenza (flu) and COVID-19

Influenza immunization is now available.

The influenza vaccine and COVID-19 vaccine are given separately. You may choose to get both immunizations at the same appointment or at 2 different appointments.

To book an immunization:

Appointments for children under age 5 years and their families are available at public health or community health centres.

COVID-19 and influenza immunization may be available at a public health walk-in clinic near you. Many pharmacies will also offer walk-in COVID-19 and influenza immunization.

Call Health Link at 811 if:

  • You do not have an Alberta healthcare card.
  • You live in a community where there are no healthcare providers who give vaccines.

Routine immunization for children

To book an appointment for a routine immunization (childhood vaccine) for your child, call 811 or your nearest AHS public health or community health centre. Try to call at least 4 weeks in advance of when your child’s vaccine is due.

Travel immunization

Effective April 1, 2023, Alberta Health Services travel health clinics are permanently closed in all zones.

To book an appointment for vaccines you need for travel, contact a private travel health clinic, your doctor, or your local pharmacist.

Post-secondary healthcare students
If you need an immunization or a skin test for tuberculosis for your healthcare training program, check with your program to find out if you can get immunized through your school. Another option is to contact a private travel health clinic, your doctor, or your local pharmacist and pay for the immunization you need.
