Public health inspectors operate under the Alberta Public Health Act to ensure compliance with the province's legislation.
- For each facility inspection posted on this website, there is a list of unsafe practices, known as violations, noted by the public health inspector during the inspection. Violations are typically posted within one business day but in some cases may take up to 5 business days.
- Public health inspectors check numerous practices during inspections and if a violation is identified, they will ask questions to confirm the severity of the identified violations. Only violations noted during an inspection are listed in the summary version of the facility inspections posted on this website. Safe practices are not listed, therefore, a full complete picture of the inspection is not posted online.
- If a facility creates or maintains a violation, AHS may issue a work/repair or closure order, or take other legal actions. Orders are not listed on this website but can be found at EPH Enforcement Orders.

- Reports are available for all food facility inspections completed in the past three years, as of today. This includes food facilities within childcare facilities.
- Reports for childcare facilities are available for all inspections completed after June 1, 2023. These inspections will be posted for 3 years.
- Reports for pools are available for all inspections completed after March 1, 2023. These inspections will be posted for 3 years.
- Reports for personal services are available for all inspections completed after April 3, 2023. These inspections will be posted for 3 years.
